Rachel Pazur (she/her) is a music educator, composer, and conductor dedicated to advancing music literacy and fostering meaningful musical experiences for students of all ages. She has previously served in public education as the Choir Director and Guitar Teacher at Western Harnett High, and as an elementary music educator at Boone Trail Elementary in Harnett County Schools. Through her work in both elementary and secondary music education, she is committed to building strong foundations in musicianship, creativity, and ensemble performance.
Pazur has conducted academic choirs of high merit and served as musical director for student productions including High School Musical, She Persisted Jr., and The SpongeBob Musical. Students in her vocal music program have gone on to receive honors such as selection to the All-Carolina Select Choir, acceptance into the North Carolina Governor’s School for Choral Music, and consistent superior ratings in solo performance competitions. In addition to her work in public education, Pazur has given private instruction in voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, flute, saxophone, and drums to students of a variety of ages. She often encourages her students to form their own small ensembles, ranging from a cappella groups to garage bands, fostering collaboration, creativity, and student-led musicianship.
Never one to limit herself; alongside her work as an educator and conductor, she maintains an active creative practice as an independent contemporary artist, having written, recorded, and produced her EP A Dusted Rose, released in September 2023. Her goal as an educator is that her students graduate not only with the ability to read and perform music at high levels, but also with the confidence, inspiration, and creative tools necessary to write their own music and express themselves through it—regardless of whether they choose to pursue music professionally. Passionate about sharing her love of music, she strives to make a lasting impact on her students and the wider community through accessible, engaging, and literacy-focused music education.
